…She turned and ran. She didn’t know where she was going, only that she had to get away. The guards’ laughter, a cruel, echoing sound, followed her. The golden light of the planet now seemed harsh and menacing. The shimmering leaves of the trees seemed to claw at her as she scrambled past, her heart hammering a desperate rhythm against her ribs. She was no longer an explorer; she was prey, fleeing from a fate worse than she could have ever imagined. The alien planet, once a place of wonder, had become a prison, and the path to escape was shrouded in fear and uncertainty.
