…But as she looked back at the dense woods, a single, chilling thought lingered. Liam. He was still out there. His carefully constructed lie, his years of deception, had remained hidden. The hikers on the trail knew nothing of the dark cabin, of Sophie’s stolen years, of the manipulative friend who had orchestrated it all. “We need to tell them,” Mia said to Sophie, her voice firm, her gaze hardening. “We need to tell everyone what he did.” Sophie nodded, her hand finding Mia’s. The journey had been long, the darkness profound, but the light of freedom, and the promise of justice, had finally broken through. The escape was only the beginning.
