…But the journey was far from over. The sea stretched out before them, vast and unpredictable. He was cold, hungry, and utterly alone, save for the loyal dog panting beside him. He didn’t know where he was going, or what lay ahead. But for the first time in a long time, Leo felt a fragile tendril of hope unfurling within him. He had faced his fears, and he had survived. He had taken the first step towards a new beginning, a step into the unknown, with only a scruffy, loyal dog for company. The sad boy was still sad, but now, he was also a little bit brave.
