…He was out. He was truly out. The grand house, the gilded cage, was behind him. The vast, dark expanse of the world lay before him. He didn’t know where he was going, what dangers lurked in the shadows, or if he would ever truly be safe. But for the first time in what felt like an eternity, he was free. The fear was still there, a cold knot in his stomach, but it was mingled with a burgeoning sense of hope, a fragile, flickering flame that promised a future beyond the walls of his prison. He ran, his small legs pumping, his heart filled with a wild, exhilarating mix of terror and triumph, the echoes of Doggy's brave barks a fading lullaby in the heart of the night.
