And they want to bring the original Jaque Deeds.” The van fell silent. Wila’s hand tightened around the clone’s. The night was far from over. “Then we go,” she said. “We hear what they have to say. And we take it from there.” Kay nodded slowly. “Alright. But we do it my way. No one goes in alone.” As the van merged onto the highway, the city lights blurring past, Wila leaned into the clone’s side. They had each other. They had the file. They had a chance. And for now, that was enough.
