…I took a deep breath, the cool morning air filling my lungs. It smelled of possibility. Of a world scrubbed clean, ready to be rebuilt. My mother’s final message echoed in my mind: Live your life, Elena. Find your own melody. I didn’t know where I was going, or what tomorrow would bring. But for the first time in a long time, the uncertainty didn’t feel like a threat. It felt like freedom. The Dark Ledger had been unveiled, and in its revealing, it had also unveiled me.
