…For now, he simply rose and dressed and walked into the morning, aware that another day had begun, another stretch of time to be used. He did not know what he would do with it yet. But he knew it would be used, because it always was. And that certainty was both comforting and unsettling, a truth he could not escape and did not want to. The power of time had already begun to work on him, shaping his thoughts, his memories, his very life. He had only to keep walking, keep watching, keep wondering. And he did, step by step, tick by tick, into the unknown that lay ahead.
