…Anna watched him go, the jetpack a tiny speck now, spiraling erratically. She turned back to Mark, who had finally stopped crying and was staring, slack-jawed, at the sky. Serina, clutching Anna’s arm, let out a shaky sigh. The pogodozer was broken. Mark had had his tantrum. And General Stokes was, quite literally, flying away. It was a chaotic end to a chaotic day, a day that had begun with a mysterious gift and ended with a brother in pants-pooping disarray and an enemy propelled into the stratosphere. Anna had a feeling their adventures were far from over.
