…“This is it, Sera,” Elara breathed, her voice filled with awe. “This is the energy the machine needs.” Seraphina, though more grounded, couldn’t deny the palpable force emanating from the crystals. She helped Elara carefully extract a few smaller, but still potent, shards, wrapping them in insulating cloth. The journey back to the city felt different, imbued with a sense of hope, but also a growing awareness of the immense task ahead. They had found the fuel, but now they had to face the engine, and the men who guarded its secrets. The reckoning was far from over.
