…But Temide, standing on this ordinary street corner, felt the first tremor of a much larger, unseen event. The whisper in the wires was growing louder, and he had a terrible feeling that he was the only one who could hear it. He knew, with a certainty that settled deep in his bones, that his quiet life as a technician had just taken a very unexpected, and potentially very dangerous, turn.
