…Coco nudged his hand, then nudged Felix’s leg, a happy, contented sigh escaping her. Alex knelt down, burying his face in Coco’s soft fur, then looked up at Felix, his heart full. He had a secret. A magnificent, scaly, magical secret. And as the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the yard, Alex knew that his life had just become a whole lot more interesting. He had found his dragon, and together, they would embark on adventures he could only dream of. For now, though, Felix was safe, and that was the most important thing. He had a new friend, a magnificent, secret friend, and the quiet thrill of that knowledge settled deep within him, a promise of wonders yet to come.
