…Kubo looked at the woman, then at her own trembling hands. "It was… a monster," she said, the words heavy with a truth that went far beyond the immediate horror. "And I don't think it's gone for good." As the first responders, alerted by the commotion, began to arrive, Kubo clutched the locket tighter. The snow continued to fall, gently erasing the last traces of the Mimic's presence.
