In her eyes, I saw not just the fleeting thrill of escape, but the deep, unwavering love that had always been our compass. It was that love, I prayed, that would eventually guide us back from this dizzying, intoxicating descent. The methacoaster had just left the station, and the ride was going to be wilder than any of us could have ever imagined. The sun, now a distant memory, had been replaced by the harsh, artificial glow of our chosen oblivion.
