…A hushed silence fell over the comms. Then, Aris’s voice, measured but with a new edge of urgency. "Can you triangulate the source, Deagan? And send us the raw data. We're seeing… something on our end as well. A faint, coherent transmission. It's unlike anything we've ever encountered." My heart hammered against my ribs. This was it. The unknown. The mystery that lay beyond the stars. I was alone on Mars, my ship barely functional, my mission just beginning, and now, something else was here. Something that was also reaching out. The adventure had just taken a turn I could never have predicted.
