…It stood silhouetted against the pale sky, a beautiful, deceptive facade. The man in the walls was no longer a whisper, no longer a shadow. He was exposed. And I, Cara, the optimistic, naive girl who had dreamed of a fresh start, was no longer naive. I was a survivor. The trauma would linger, a scar etched onto my soul, but so would the newfound strength, the resilience I had discovered in the face of unimaginable darkness. I had been tested, and I had not broken.
