…Thorne let out a guttural roar of rage, but his men were already beginning to retreat, their lust for plunder replaced by a gnawing unease. They had faced something they couldn't conquer, something that had spoken to their very souls. As Leo turned to lead his own weary crew away from the clearing, he glanced back at the crystal. It stood silent, immense, a guardian of a secret that the world was not yet ready to comprehend. The energy had awakened, and in its awakening, it had shown Leo the true meaning of power, and the immense weight of responsibility. The hunt was not over, but the prize had changed.
