…I watched them, a sense of grim satisfaction settling over me. Melissa’s sacrifice, my own brush with death, had not been in vain. They had forged something new in the heart of Lykos’ Lambda. They had forged the first sparks of a rebellion. And I, John, the reaper, the widower, the survivor, would be its igniter. The memory of Melissa’s song, of her defiant spirit, was now my guiding light. Timothy ‘Cu’ Podginus had unleashed his fury, and in doing so, he had inadvertently sown the seeds of his own destruction. The House of Mars was about to be shaken to its very foundations.
