…But she was not alone for long. A voice came from the shadows to her left—rough, tired, and sharp. "You shouldn't have done that." Iris spun. A boy stood there, leaning against the wall. He looked about her age, maybe a little older, with dark circles under his eyes and a wary set to his shoulders. "Who are you?" she asked. "Someone who has been here longer than you," he said. "My name is Elias. And if you want to get out of this place alive, you're going to need my help."
