…She went back to her room and opened the book. The drawing was still there, but now it held a small heart near its own heart. And the words had changed. "I will love you forever, Scarlett." She pressed the page to her lips. In the mirror across the room, she saw the creature standing behind her, its heart-shaped face reflected in the glass. It was smiling. And she smiled back. Somewhere in the attic, the rocking chair began to sway on its own. And the story was just beginning.
