…And tonight, as the cold seeped into my bones, I knew, with a certainty that transcended all doubt, that our blood, if it was shed, would water that seed, and it would grow. It would grow into a mighty tree, its branches reaching to the ends of the earth, a testament to the man who had called us from the shores of Galilee, who had died and risen again, and who would, in His own time, return for us all. The darkness was real, the persecution was fierce, but the light of Christ, once ignited, could never be extinguished. And we, the Twelve, and all who followed, were its keepers. We would persevere. We had no other choice.
