…The air, however, felt different. The oppressive weight of fear had lessened, replaced by a strange, potent hum. The obsidian dust on my skin still pulsed with a faint warmth. I looked at my hands, no longer seeing them as instruments of destruction, but as something… else. Something that held a terrifying potential, a truth I was only beginning to grasp. The Obsidian Hand was still hunting me, I knew that. But now, I also knew I wasn't entirely alone. And for the first time since the unraveling, a flicker of something akin to hope, however dark and dangerous, ignited within me. The jester had played his gambit, and I, the storm, was left to navigate the board.
