…With a final, desperate push, I unleashed a wave of shadow, not to harm, but to disorient. The chamber was plunged into darkness, thick and absolute. I felt Ryan’s hand grasp mine, her grip surprisingly strong. "Now!" she urged, pulling me towards a hidden passage I hadn't noticed before. We plunged into the unknown, the roars of Daved and the clash of magic fading behind us. But the whispers, the insidious, intoxicating whispers of the Serpent’s Coil, followed me, promising power, promising answers, and promising a darkness that was rapidly becoming my own.
