…As I licked my melting sherbet, I looked around. Kids were laughing, sharing stories, and the rival group, now our new friends, were already asking Maya about her tetherball moves. The playground felt bigger, brighter, and full of possibilities. The great summer playground escape was turning out to be even better than I’d imagined. We had our game back, we had new friends, and the sun was still high in the sky, promising more adventures. This was definitely the best summer ever.
