…Bob looked up, his smile fading slightly as he saw the expression on Jhon's face. "You okay, Jhon? You look a bit… spooked." Jhon forced a smile. "Yeah, just… it's a bit intense, isn't it? All the whispering." He tried to sound casual, but his heart was pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs. He wanted to be adventurous, he wanted this to be the start of something amazing, but a part of him was screaming to turn back, to run. Yet, he looked at Bob, his friend, his crush, standing there, his face alight with curiosity and wonder, and he knew he couldn't. Not yet. Not when the adventure, and the possibility of something more, was just beginning to sparkle.
