…"Yeah," Jhon said, his voice filled with a newfound eagerness. "Yeah, that would be great." He watched Bob step off the bus and disappear into the morning crowd. He knew, with a certainty that surprised him, that he didn't want to go to work. He wanted to find some ruins. He wanted to solve some riddles. He wanted to find that hidden map. And maybe, just maybe, he wanted to find it with Bob. The mundane world faded into the background as Jhon, for the first time in a long time, felt the stirrings of adventure. His broken-down car had just become the most magnificent thing that had ever happened to him.
