…“Well,” Jhon said, a genuine smile finally gracing his lips, “that sounds… incredibly interesting, Bob.” He met Bob’s hopeful gaze. “Count me in.” Bob’s smile widened, a flash of genuine delight. “Fantastic! I knew you’d be up for it. This is going to be great.” As Jhon stepped off the bus, the familiar grey pavement of his usual route greeting him, he felt a lightness he hadn’t experienced in months. The car might be broken, his morning might have started with frustration, but now, thanks to a dusty old map and a friendly face, his day had taken a decidedly unexpected and wonderfully promising turn. The adventure, he realized with a thrill, was already beginning.
