…“Thanks, Bob,” Jhon replied, and as he stepped off the bus, he turned back to wave. Bob waved back, his eyes lingering for a moment longer than necessary. Jhon walked away, the familiar pavement feeling a little less ordinary. He still had to get to work, and his car was still stubbornly refusing to start, but the usual weight of his worries felt lighter. He had seen Bob. He had talked about adventure. And for the first time in a long time, Jhon felt a flicker of something akin to excitement. The seeds of change, it seemed, were already being sown, not in some faraway land, but right here, on a humble yellow bus, next to a friend.
