…Sandy’s eyes widened, then sparkled. “More time? For what?” Arke looked at her, at the glorious, uncontainable mess that was her existence. He looked at the pigeons, who were now pecking at her shoelaces. He looked at the vibrant, chaotic, utterly nonsensical world around them. “For more adventures,” he said, and for the first time, he realized he meant it. He might have come to Earth to observe, but he was staying to experience. And he suspected, with a thrill that was both terrifying and exhilarating, that Sandy was going to be the one showing him how.
