…I laughed, a genuine, happy sound that echoed in the grimy alley. The sirens seemed a little further away now. The panic was subsiding, replaced by confused murmurs. Arke, the prim and proper Lyran, was actually looking forward to causing more chaos. And me? I was right there with him. The beige mediocrity of my old life felt like a distant, forgotten dream.
