…I just shrugged, scooping up a handful of the remaining “Dill Pickle and Ranch Fiesta” chips. “Don’t worry, Arke. I’ve got your back. And hey, if things get really bad, we can always distract them with snacks.” He gave me a look that said, ‘You cannot be serious.’ But as I watched him square his shoulders, a flicker of something akin to excitement sparked within me. This was it. The next level of chaos. And for the first time, I didn’t feel completely overwhelmed. I had a friend, a shared love of ridiculously flavored chips, and a whole lot of unforeseen variables. Earth, it seemed, was just getting started.
