…He raised a hand, not in anger, but with a deliberate, measured movement. The shadows around him seemed to coalesce, to thicken, reaching out like spectral tendrils. The sky above Oakhaven, already overcast, began to darken further, the grey retreating before an encroaching, unnatural blackness. The whispers of the townsfolk turned to terrified whimpers. They looked at each other, their eyes wide with a shared, dawning horror. They had pushed him too far. They had broken him. And in doing so, they had unleashed something they could never have imagined. The Ghost Empire was stirring. Its Master had finally despaired. And the shadows were answering the call.
