…He picked up his phone and saw a message from Sarah: “You were amazing today. But don’t forget to be the Jack who sees the universe in a grain of sand. That’s the Jack I believe in.” He smiled, the tension in his shoulders easing. He typed back: “I won’t. Not as long as you’re there to remind me.” He set down the phone and looked out the window. The stars were out, faint but persistent, a reminder that even in darkness, there was light. Jack Woodbury was still standing. And he was just getting started.
