…Anya spun around. The mirror was still intact, but a thin line of black had appeared across its surface, spreading slowly. Vesper’s face went pale. “That’s not possible. The Void-Eater is sealed.” Lena stepped forward, her hand brushing the crack. A whisper came through, faint but unmistakable—Elias’s voice, urgent and afraid. “It’s not alone. Something else is here. Something older. It’s trying to break through from the other side.” The crack widened, and through it, Anya saw a pair of eyes—vast, cold, and utterly empty—staring back at her. Then the mirror shattered. And the golden city went dark.
