…Rain offered a small, hesitant smile. "We'll explain everything. Once we're inside. But for now, we need to get you to shelter." He led the way across the moor, the wind whipping at our clothes. The cottage door creaked open as we approached, revealing a dimly lit interior that smelled of herbs and old wood. As I stepped across the threshold, I felt a subtle shift in the air, a sense of quiet containment. The shadows outside seemed to press against the windows, but they couldn’t penetrate. We were safe, for now. But the journey, as Rain had ominously foretold, had only just begun. And the path ahead, I suspected, would be as dark and winding as the forest we had just escaped.
