…He watched as we turned towards home, our wings beating with a new lightness, our hearts filled with the memory of his gentle presence. As we flew away, looking back one last time, we saw Barnaby standing at the edge of the Whispering Woods, a majestic, silent sentinel, before he turned and disappeared back into the emerald depths. We knew, with a certainty that settled deep within our fairy hearts, that the Whispering Woods held not just mystery, but also unexpected friendships, and that we would certainly return, perhaps not to get lost again, but to seek out the quiet wisdom of our gentle, bear-shaped guardian.
