…With a final, joyous roar of laughter from Sir Reginald, and a relieved smile from Flikker, Pip and Lily stepped into the gleaming portal of the time machine. The hall of Castle Grumbles, moments before filled with the echoes of a gruff knight’s loneliness, now resonated with the genuine, unrestrained sound of happiness, a sound that would linger long after they were gone. The machine whirred, the light intensified, and with a gentle lurch, they were whisked away, leaving behind a medieval feast that had finally, truly, become an extremely happy time.
