…A primal instinct, a desperate need for survival, tugged at him. He had to disappear. He had to find a place where he could be safe, where his markings wouldn't be a target, where he could perhaps, one day, understand why he was so different. With a hesitant step, the lonely giraffe turned his back on the clearing, on the memory of Elara's gentle touch, and plunged deeper into the forbidden forest, a solitary shadow moving towards an unknown destiny. The ancient trees seemed to sigh around him, their branches reaching out like silent sentinels, guarding the secrets of the woods, and the fate of the outcast.
