…I opened my phone and typed a message, my fingers moving with a newfound certainty. “Mark, I’m coming home. And I need to talk to you. For good.” The neon sign of the Starlight Inn pulsed outside, a garish reminder of the place where I’d finally begun to untangle the threads. The motel room, once a symbol of my despair, now felt like a temporary stop on a journey towards my own truth. The echoes of silence were still there, but they were starting to sing a different song, a song of resilience, of self-discovery, and of a love that, true and unconditional, had finally found its way back to me.
