It was money he could afford to lose, he rationalized, though a part of him knew it wasn't truly "afford to lose" money. It was rent money, food money, money for his family. With a tremor that was more excitement than fear, he tapped the button. The app glowed a little brighter, and a confirmation message appeared: "Investment successful. Your earnings will be credited within 24 hours." Jonas leaned back, a strange mixture of elation and dread swirling within him. He had taken the bait. The golden bird of Dubajus had him in its grasp.
