…King Belshazzar slumped on his throne, his purple robe and gold chain now meaningless. The terror that had gripped him earlier had solidified into a chilling despair. The laughter, the music, the revelry of the night had been extinguished, replaced by the deafening silence of impending doom. The hand had vanished as mysteriously as it had appeared, leaving behind only the stark, damning words and the shattered remnants of a king’s arrogance. The glory of Babylon, so vaunted just hours before, was now a flickering candle in the face of an unstoppable wind. The night was no longer one of celebration, but of reckoning.
