…The crimson thread of fate, I thought, felt more like a tangled knot at the moment. But as I walked, a new resolve began to form within me. I wouldn’t let fear dictate my path. I wouldn’t let Leo’s guardedness extinguish the spark that had ignited between us. The locket held a secret, yes.
