As I walked towards the door, the weight of his unspoken past pressed down on me, a heavy, invisible cloak. I glanced back, but he had already turned away, his back once again to me, the enigmatic guardian of lost things, his secrets held close, just out of reach. The chime of the bell as I left felt like a mournful echo, a promise unfulfilled, a question mark hanging heavy in the twilight air.
