…I looked up at the crumbling ramparts, the jagged silhouette against the darkening sky. Poenari Castle. Its history was not just about battles and rulers, about blood and fear. It was about the enduring echoes of human emotion, the price of power, and the inexplicable connections that bind us to the past. And I, Amy Kathryn Allen, was no longer just an observer. I was a participant, drawn into its ancient, terrifying narrative, destined, it seemed, to share its fate. The chill in the air had nothing to do with the weather.
