…The stones of Poenari didn't just hold the echoes of Vlad the Impaler’s reign; they held the echoes of something far older, far more profound, and infinitely more terrifying. They held the secrets of those who had paid the ultimate price, their silent screams woven into the very fabric of the fortress. And I, standing there amidst the spectral remnants of their sacrifice, felt a chilling kinship, a sense that their story, and mine, were now irrevocably entwined. The air grew still, the wind ceased its sighing, and in the profound silence, I knew I had only just begun to understand the true, terrifying heart of Poenari Castle.
