…Ed looked down at the drawing. "I'm thinking about what happens after." Outside, Layia's laughter rang through the square. Ed could hear her shouting something at Lilly, her voice bright and full. He folded the parchment carefully and handed it back to Galen. "Make it beautiful," he said softly. "Make it worth waiting for." Galen nodded once. "I will." Ed stepped out of the forge into the afternoon sun. The village was calm. The bandits were gone. And somewhere, in the back of his mind, a name whispered again—Epsilon—followed by another, softer, like a memory trying to surface. Jason. He had a feeling he hadn't heard the last of that name.
