The path ahead was fraught with peril, but for the first time, the fear felt less like a paralyzing weight and more like a spur, urging me forward. Thorne’s ambition was a dangerous force, but it was a force that preyed on weakness. And I was determined to show him that the Obsidian Bloodline was far stronger, and far more deeply connected to this world, than he could ever comprehend.
