…The creature lunged, its form solidifying for a terrifying instant, revealing a gaping maw filled with impossibly sharp teeth and eyes that seemed to absorb all light. Arthur felt a searing pain, a sensation of being torn apart, and then… nothing. The hum, the yellow, the desperate hope – all of it vanished in an instant, swallowed by the consuming darkness. The door, the promise of escape, remained untouched, a silent testament to a hope brutally extinguished.
