…And then it lunged. There was no pain, not at first. Just a sudden, overwhelming pressure, a tearing sensation, and a silence that was absolute, profound, and final. The buzzing, the yellow, the endless corridors, all of it dissolved into nothingness. Arthur’s brief, desperate hope, his fleeting glimpse of an exit, was extinguished in an instant, swallowed by the ancient, hungry darkness. The door, the promise of escape, swung shut with a soft, final click, leaving the yellow labyrinth undisturbed, waiting for its next lost soul.
