…A blur of motion, too fast to comprehend, lunged from the periphery of his vision. A monstrous silhouette, all sharp angles and unnatural limbs, detached itself from the wall. He felt a searing pain, a tearing sensation that extinguished his hope in an instant. The last thing Arthur saw, before the darkness claimed him not with the gentle void of his fall, but with a brutal, final finality, was a flash of something impossibly sharp, impossibly fast, and the overwhelming, suffocating yellow of the walls. The buzzing continued, oblivious, as another inhabitant of the endless yellow was consumed.
