…Sheng groaned, but there was a smile on her face. As they turned to leave the clearing, Pip fluttering along beside them, a tiny whirlwind of apologies and explanations, Lin and Feng exchanged a look. Their friend, it seemed, was still their friend. Beautiful, impulsive, and prone to getting into the most ridiculous scrapes. And honestly, they wouldn’t have it any other way. The woods, now filled with their laughter and the chirping of a very relieved sprite, felt a little less mysterious and a lot more like home.
